Chill, the magic of Christmas is well there! Anton, Bruno, Cäsar and Dora have just left the French coasts and are en route for the green lands of Lancashire... ... and we'll all be looking forward to seeing soon how this worked out on the forum. Good luck and good wind, mate! Cheers, Robert

Well 100 issues in on my build - almost two years!
My feelings up to now on my build. All told I am very satisfied with my build up to now.
In all honesty my total build is about 70% of 100 issues published on my build(if that makes sense) just varied my build to allevate boredom of same thing week out week in.
I still need to finish of the hull to a excellent standard, having disgarded the port hole pieces for the stern, brass railings to be fitted on the curved deck pieces as my confidence isnt that high on benidng them to the correct curvature.
I have re-ordered some issues in from Ebay to re do the mast issues 69-72 for example, as I was not happy with my build on it. Along with a few other issues I aim to make good on some bits as again I was not happy with what I had done so I had a paddy!! Points to guess who I am on ebay!! lol
I still regert not to do a three engine model but am anxious to get a two engine one worrying my rubber ducky!
I ,along with others it seems, have spent many an hour searching for those brass bits that 'pinged' into the black hole of the carpets, rugs etc.
The one thing that concerns me is the painting of the boat - my skills are pants to be blunt but still practice makes perfect!
Thanks to people on this forum supplying wood filler ready built Anton and guns etc have been a great help and I hope my ramblings have been of some light hearted relive. In the next few weeks I aim to have my build up to the same pace as the issues publish and to get some R/C gear installed(possibly depending on funds and my job security) if not just to get my guns covered in brass! So we steam headlong into ever more fiddly bits with great excitment and make more appointments with our opticians for eye strain!
So heres to the last 40 issues, see only 5 minutes ago since we had 140 issues ahead of us - time flys!

Have look in "Popeye's Build" and then the Flickr photoset it directs you to to see how I fixed and will motorise my turrets, including making the gun barrels go up and down as the turret rotates.
Best of luck, providing you are a naval or nuclear engineer it shouldn't be a problem !!

Doing issue 79 and some of the railings are not quite long enough to attach and fill the gaps to produce a fluid run of railings...
