Well on to issue 41 and the last of the planking. I have decided that once complete with this build to open a new monastery in the rural outbacks of Devon and call it 'The Fraternal Order of Plankton', not to be confused with Paignton, which is what I shall be doing shortly! Anyway, I figured the patience and virtue I have acquired should be passed down to those poor troubled souls we read about in the media everyday. Hang on, who am I kidding, only those who are trusted Shellbacks shall be allowed refuge from their travels in our society. Press release to follow.

Thanks lads, Yeah I'll have to wait for a sunny day to get the wheelie bins set up again. Probably later next week, just finishing up the RTTL Vosper. And can't be bothered to change the date everytime I put the batteries back in the digital. There is no doubt a way to turn that function off which I have not sussed out yet. Robert

looking fine, robert if you haven't glattfixed by now i would suggest to remove any paint by sanding so glattfix can soak into the planks... never use glattfix on painted surfaces, it dissolves most kinds of paint immediately !!! markus

Hi Markus, No I haven't glatfixd yet, wanted to see the high spots and will sand paint off. I was reading an article the other day about planked hulls and using sealants. The article suggested that to only seal the exterior of the hull, because if you seal both interior and exterior, and a crack or hole allows water into the sealed wood, it cannot evaporate and will rot, whereas, if you just seal the exterior and you do have an ingress of water, it can evaporate after a wipe out. Any thoughts.
