Your suggestion from a few weeks back got the better of me Mark A little bit out of scale, but it was the thinnest wire I had available Baz

Hi Baz, Excellent work as usual and worth a 'k' With your talent and abilities, you would become an excellent scratchbuilder. I really hope you stay with me and build the Prinz Eugen. By the way, what Bissy issue is up next down here? (I have to look out for the Arados).

117 coming this week Poul
Having a look at the issues 123 supplies 1 plane, 2 canopies, 2 engine cowls and the fretwork for 2 planes. Issue 124 supplies 1 plane Issue 125 the decals No need for a duplicate issue 126 - just gives instructions only. I can scan and send them to you
If you only want 1 plane, I will buy duplicates of these issues , send 1 plane to you and keep one for the PE too.

Looking good Baz. I like the outdoor shots, gives it a "real" perspective. That would be a good idea for a fun competition - who can put their Bismarck in the most realistic setting Did you paint your little boat railings white or is that just the light reflection? I've moved back to the rear superstructure for a bit since I notice they have a couple of parts from older frets to put on. I can find everything except one ladder.. grrr.. I'm also working on the main turrets, trying to make that blast bag look half realistic. I think someone here said use tissue paper mixed with white glue..I am going to try finding some thing silk and see if that might work.. Rod

I think someone here said use tissue paper mixed with white glue..I am going to try finding some thing silk and see if that might work.. Rod Hi Rod If you look at the photographic history of the Bissie' boats, it would seem early on the barges hulls were painted white and the railings were polished brass. But later piccies seem to confirm changes in colour scheme. Its difficult to confirm in B & W. The later photos seem to show white railings, so I have followed this line of attack. As for the blast bags, tissue in white glue may be the way to go or maybe superfine handkerchief cotton as a silk substitute. Another challenge, to get a realistic effect, is to be able to show the folds and creases, so you need to get the material to a point where it can be pliable, but not floppy .....if you know what I mean ....

....well the most realistic setting would be the bottom of the oggy, but I'd need a scuba course to take the pics, and then there is the matter of dealing with the brine in your motors.

As they say ' Houston, we have a problem' .......gee whiz, haven't used him for a while ... By chance I have been looking at photos of the main tower of the actual ship in a variey of building modes at at no stage of her construction can I find this platform I have highlighted below I have attached a small photo of Bissie in fighting trim and probably just before departure for battle. No sign Can anybody please enlighten me as to when this platform was installed ? ? Peter B does not have it on his 1:200 scale model, but it is on a large scale model posted by a member of the forum ( looks like a museum piece ) .... bu....a, can't remember who posted the 4 or 5 photos. .........just found it ...... posted by Markus back in April 2009 Build the Bismarck and Other Models or Partworks :: The Brig :: Other models :: model fair Baz
