You have done a very good job there Northman, it shows that a bit of extra effort can improve the model drastically!!!

Thanks for the nice comments guys . I need some help if anyone can assist I am on Issue 66 and for the life of me I cannot get the exhaust pipes to bend properly . Infact I`ve broke one already and will have to order a back issue from hatchette . Can anyone give me any advice as how to bend the rods properly and what tools i will need ? Any advice would be most welcome ;D

Hmm, I just used two pairs of pointy nose pliars Northman, as far as I can remember. Bend them slowly and with even pressure. try to be sure of the bend position first time, straighening and rebending can be fatal for the soft metal.
Measure once, twice, three times. (hey! Lionel Richie!)

Thanks eric . I was using cutters to make the mark to bend but I think because the grove was on both sides the metal broke when i bent it. the measuring will be a pain I just hope i can mark it correctly on the metal for when i do the double pincer job on it .I got the part reordered from Hatchette and expect it in a couple of weeks then ill give it another go.

Thanks for the piccs Baz and your assistance ;D .But its the other end where the problem lies . I have got a couple of shots of it as you will see . Though I do not understand why they are short . Maybe I mismeasured when I put the deck brass on ?. I will try and maybe attach a few brass wires between the gap or is the gap intentional , basically thats what I am trying to find out . If anyone else has had the same problem or could give me any ideas Id love to hear from you all ;D . I hope this might help anyone about to start this stage of the ship

Bummer ..........sorry can't help here mate I don't get that issue until next week.
Do the piccie instructuctions in the mag show them meeting ?
If so, it may mean some sanding and filing is required. Thanks for the heads up though Will let you know how I go next Saturday.
Maybe some of the UK mob can help as most will have attempted this section

Hi Northman, I'm pretty sure the gap isn't intentional, mine turned out just right, needed a little filler and sanding but only like half a millimetre, it might be the way you meant it but i'm sure it's nothing a little saning and filling can't fix

Dear Northman. Same as Daniel, mine fitted fairly well. However, I assumed that there wasn't a gap there when I was positioning the railing before gluing. I also wait until I have all the railings for a given position so that I can get them aligned properly with one another, which sometimes means waiting patiently (!!) for a few weeks (months?).
I do wish that Hachette would complete sections in consecutive issues, its like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle by getting random pieces being spoon fed over a long time.

I have probably mismeasured the railings but Im sure this can be fixed with a few well placed strands of wire . Thanks for letting me know your own ships fitted fine I will get onto the extra attachments and when done hopefully they wont be to noticable and it will be my own little variation of the ship .
