Looking very good. For the second layer of planking you might try what I did. My local model shop sells 1m lengths of wooden strip in mahogony, beech, maple, etc., as well as the lime wood used on this model. They come in a range of widths and thicknesses, including those used on this model. For my second layer I used the 1m lengths of mahogony, it not only looks very good, its gives a tougher, smoother and more even outer layer and its much easier putting 1m on at a time!!. See Popeye build site which will direct you to the Flickr photo site where all my Bismarck and other model build pictures are.
Anyway, good luck in whichever way you do it and keep up the high standard.
