Thanks guy's! It looks smooth on the photo's, but it will need a lot of sanding. Markus, I've used the Hachette planks. By the way, in a few day's I will be visiting your country. I'm going to Wacken Open Air!

A new update: The seawater in/outlets are placed! I foresaw disaster with these things and expected to ruin at least one of them but they both turned out pretty good! This is the first one. And an other photo of the first seawater in/outlets thingy. This afternoon I broke my 0.5mm drill bit so off I went on my motorcycle to the capital of soft drugs (Amsterdam) to buy two new drill bits. A few minutes ago disaster struck, I broke my second drill bit of the day! Current score: 3 drill bits KIA, 1 MIA, 1 intact drill bit scared to death. No more drilling for me today... A close-up with my girlfriends camera with a huge lens(?). Looks funny aye? Thymen P.S. Wacken was awesome!

Hi Thymen, I see in your planking you use pins through the planks to keep it in place. According to me this create much more filler to smooth out, especially with the second layer. I used a combined approach with wood glue as well as superglue gel. I placed a dot of superglue gel every 5 or so centimetres and in between, starting and ending about 5 mm away from the superglue dots, a thin line of woodglue more to the side of the plank that will make contact with the previously fitted plank. I then applied pressure for about 30 seconds on the superglue dots whilst holding the plank firmly in place. So I continued untill the end of the plank. This takes a bit longer but reduced my work time on smoothing the deck alot. Planks that needed more bending I simply shortened the distances of the superglue dots. Hope this helps whilst you're in this stage.

Project Bismarck will be on hold for the next five months, this because I'll spend that time sailing the world's oceans on the Dutch cargo vessel Marissa Green. My adventure starts tomorrow when I'll leave for Cape Town. The vessel is currently at anchor in Saldahna Bay. See you all next year!
