I see you are in Australia. The brands are Australian made and are your standard size 250g cans.
Australian EXPORT enamel, interior & Exterior.
Gloss Black EX014 Heritage Cream EX215 Machinery Grey EX213
and these are available from Super Cheap stores.
and from Bunnings I am using White Knight Brand - Dusk Grey for the superstructure and most of the hull. I spray quite a distance of 15" approx to get a fine coating and most times I am coating the part 4 - 5 times. I am not using primer or anything like that. When I have soldered the brasswork I then use a wire brush the size of a toothbrush [from supercheap] and get the component nice and shiny, it does not take long and it takes of the coating off that the brass seems to have. On experimenting on scrap brass the paint has stuck very well. Happy with this technique. I did try a small modelers spray kit but my idea produces just as good results. Try a test first to get your technique fine tuned.

Hey Nettie, can I offer a tip on the hangars...
When the funnel comes along, its clear the hangars are wau\y too wide to fit so the instructions say to sand them back on the inside wall. I found that with the addition of the lockers on the outside of the hangars, I had to take the entire inside hangar wall off to make them fit. If I was doing it again, I just wouldn't bother fitting the inside wall..

Thanks for that tip Rod, I was going to do that as I could see the hiccup down the track, as I have downloaded the complete german instructions. When I get this weeks parts I will test fit, temporary, the door side before I cut the hanger up to see the wood that needs to be cut off. The funnel will act as the inside wall of the hangar. I shall post pic of this modification next weekeknd. Ta

I actually think this looks better, I wonder why they didn't do it this way in real life?

The flag is on a diamond orientation as well so I will keep it as it is.

I quite like it on an angle, seems to look better to me and it is the same as my flag. To paint this part of the ship decking I masked the deck with a low tack masking tape - 3M Scotch Blue tape. Spray a lite coat of white undercoat over the area and leave to dry. Follow with the white top coat. Don,t remove the masking tape at this stage. I then cut a circle of masking tape and placed it in position over the new white area. Then spray your red on. Let dry and then remove all the tape. At this stage you will now have the red and white paintwork done. I then googled the swasticker [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nazi_Swastika.svg ] and copied the picture, transfered it to a wide piece of masking tape. Placed it on the deck in the right place and sprayed black over it. Got it perfect first time both ends. Hint - don't spray too close to decking and make sure the tape is well pressed so the paint wont bleed into the decking as it may be like blotting paper. Worked well for me first time. Its actually better than the camera pics show and makes the whole project stand out. In a few weeks I will fit the proper gun barrells. Otherwise still up to date on this project. No more builds after this as it takes too much time up, time that I dont have. House to paint, lawns to mow, cats to feed, roads to cycle on, thank god the wife is OK with this.
