I have looked in the past, but couldn't get the measurements to line up properly for some reason.

Sky, If you look at my reply #2 with the keel upside down the measurments as in that shot cos I just checked them are 10mm bottom keel ......12 mm Hole ......10 mm top runner. It was originally 10-10-10-but once i drilled the holes through and delicately clean the job up to match the drill holes it is now 12 mm gap all the way through. Don't forget to keep a soft touch working anywhere you can scuttle her before she floats. I have a couple of sets and an odd extra plank, so I used peices of first hull planking to stiffen up the keel. I put them on once I had the main dimensions dug out, then cleaned up with their support for the job. Admittedly it was easier for me not having the hull built or rather allglued together. I was able (because of all the guys on this forum inputting) to pick and choose how I did things. I ground out the keel and mounting section on the main hull before I added the rear keel and hull section. It really makes you quadruple check alignments but as I can be very particular everything is dead straight and level so far. The hole is all parallel ....no tapers etc ...It might be a little bigger in diameter than what might be needed but there is now plenty of room to angle the prop shaft and plenty of room to rebuild and pack around the outer shaft once installed. there is nothing worse tha working in too tight a space ....you might as well create a working space than something thats going to look like a sh thouse that has been blown up. You will also see that I made both compartments the same measurements. That is I cut the top sides of the keel down to the same height, silly me the measurement is 10 mm height in the photo. I have followed Marki53 Markus is the holder of the key for the three motor R/C so like I said " Follow the yellow brick road mate. " then as you walk the path ....take in all the other guys works and you will come up with your own version and one that is better than the one you would have done alone with out all of the rest of the crazys screwing with your head LOL LOL LOL

Another couple of points Sky are ...reply #2 right side of photo rib up under the propshaft hole you will see a thin rectangular small peice of wood (part of ply sheets) glued in for support. You can see it also in reply # 4 right side of photo at the back of the rib the thin support strips. As for the holes through the ribs for the shafts I made sure a six (6) mm drill fitted at all angles through that rib. Put a hard flat surface against the rib to make sure it clears. I really didnt want to go back in and reoperate on her after she was planked. They did that to me I had a perfectly good operation on my umbilical hernia and they went back in to fix and they f......d it and I got poisoned ( all fantastic now) but make it easy to work with and you won't bitch and carry on later, or you will but alot less. Just let me stress be delicate with the keel sharp drills SLOW and careful handling AND sharp knife. I also found a five (5) mm round file and a flat/halfmoon fine files work great especially on lime wood. 240 paper sometimes 60and 80 grit. One last thing I think...you will see the most forward rib down on the main hull where the motors will sit, the carve out seams alot but I think it will go further once the planking is on and I have the mounts and the motors here to install. Last off all ......hope you dont mind me telling you what to do,i just thought of everything I went through, so I thought I better alert you too. Regards Rob. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Mate! A massive help. Saved the text and the photos from you and David. So hopefully may be able to get started on modding the hull. Gave you some karma for the help!

Most appreciated thanks mate any time you want something just holla. I am just about to hit up Markus for explanation of narrowing deck and raising hull sides etc. I am a little confused about that at the moment Rob.

Hi smack,
If your on about taking the 1st lot of planking up above the deck, then have a look at my build log. But if you haven't started planking yet, then all you have to do is place the top plank 5mm above the ribs and then sand down your deck sides to fit in.

hey AFKKY, yes, I have not planked or glued deck together, I want to cut deck peices before glueing together so I dont alter the sides with sanding ....I have a picture of where I am going to replace the thick planks with ply in the center so I can slice the sheets then glue to gether and then glue to the decking frame

Just thinking maybe change to photobucket if imageshack is giving you grief, it's all free ? Also with photobucket it's easier to get the code you need to add your photos in here as they have a link already done and you just click on it and do a CTRL+V, (Paste) into your post here. photobucket.com/

Guys and Gal, I know this sounds rediculus but I have tried a thousand times on both programs and firstly went to P/B and nothing happened and still doesn't, then straight to I/S as per instructions from AFKKY ....nothing at first then all of a sudden everything went beautifully and then now I cant get back up to upload. It is too simple I know but there must be something wrong with ...ME....MINE....OR THEIRS thats intertereing with the upload. I am doing everything as should happen. I have more photos to add but I cant. SH....T. It is driving me nuts. There has to be a gliche somewhere, there has to be cos when I close a page the content goes but the base page screen takes longer to disappear.

Umm, thinks - have you tried clearing out your cache and history. What about getting the toolbar for imageshack. Also have you done a recent scan of your system for spyware / viruses ? Just a thought incase there is some on the system and thats what is stuffing up I/S. I have avg antivirus, comodo firewall, spybot, adaware 2007 and windows defender. All are free.
