Rather sad Mark, due to Health and Safety regs (this country has gone bananas), this morning any beer left in the casks had to be poured down the ditch, so tonight we have a lot of happy bunnies celebrating my birthday!!!!

Sheer stupidity. Mind, it's not just this country. A few days ago somebody in a well known company sent an accident notification to a wide audience. They had carried out a root cause analysis, came up with 8 action points, and the person hurt had to work from home for a while.
Wanna guess what the accident was ?
Somebody stubbed their toe on a door in the ladies !!!!

Could 'the end' just hold off for two years, please?
I want to get my Bismarck finished!

Indeed! Well, had an almost barbecue this weekend. Didn't have to waste any left over drinks, which means I could modify my workshop like so: Now thats what I call a fully fitted out ship yard!!! ;D As with all alcoholic beverages it's best enjoyed responsibly. One question, The recessed belt armour, is it one layer of planking or two? Better to get it straight in my head now then before I start veering from the build plans!!

that beer label looks quite familiar to me
looks like 'grafenwalder pils' from LIDL, right ?
the recessed part is only single planked as per instructions, but i would suggest to do a 2nd layer if possible...

Hello Don. Still building the decks and had a question on the Lower Deck. The Hachette Lower Deck that was sent to us has a large area in the middle with no planking on it. As I am building my own do I need this area or just copy the planking as shown? Does the part above sit on top of the lower deck planks or does it go into them? Thanks for any help

Hi Matt, I cut a large centre piece from a 1mm sheet. You can cut out the supplied deck around the outer side of the deck margin as a pattern. On the main deck, I simplified this by making the margin planks wider and leaving the centre part untouched, which in retrospect can also be done on the deck you are referring to. In both cases, the superstructure sits on top of the margin planks, cutting in is too difficult and not intended. Regards,
