I'd agree with all the above. Your model is excellent, and the funnel looks fine to me. The 2 tone boat looks good as well.

Hey Baz, looks like I hit the reply button on the wrong panel and my reply ended up in the wrong thread. Just to keep it confusing, I've replied back in your original build diary thread. Thanks for the links. Bit confusing at first but I found a real gem of a photo of the launches and the prinz eugen photos were excellent help. www.ship-model-today.de/sd126.htmAlthough not in wartime colours, its without a doubt the best closeup I have seen of the boats. I assume this guy has either recreated the boat from scratch or has refurbished it. I can't read german so i have no idea. I am about to paint the brown on the boats this weekend, so will see how it turns out. cheers Rod

I thought I had done a reasonable job on the launches until I viewed the photos. The challenge ahead will be to repaint the two tone timber colour Now here is a mod for the lifebouy I used fuse wire Baz

They're fine Baz. The closeup camera does show every little imperfection, but good luck getting a paint brush to fix something that tiny.
I notice the plastic for your windows - is that supplied or your own stock?

Nice touch with the clear plastic Baz, you always manage to make these little touches that will make your Bissie stand out from the crowd.
Great work.

Nice touch with the fuse wire as well. They all add up to make a big difference in the final model

Issue 113 Thought I'd have a break from the ship's boats For all of us building the static model, here is an update for the prop shaft tunnels and brackets. There is quite a bit sanding required to tidy up the mold lines and also to align the tunnels to the hull, but all pretty much a straight forward issue. Not much filling required where the tunnels attach to the hull I did get a bit carried away with my sanding work on one of the brackets (in the dark of the lounge room). A little repair work required here Baz

Baz, we seem to be neck and neck with build progress. I did my shafts on the weekend as well. I had to superglue one end down and wait for it to dry then, glue the other end down as it didn't quite fit to the hull curvature. Looks ok now though. I'm even contemplating whether to fill or just spray - the primer may be thick enough to handle the small seam. We will see.
yours is looking good as always.
cheers
