the tabs are to line it up in the superstructure so that little hatch ends up facing inwards onto the raised deck.

Finished my first catapult last night. Looks good. Although I have used the bending 'tool' on the railing and I have found that when you put the railing on the funnel it is too big and the ends overlap. Anyone else found this?

yes i had the same problem but if you go right round so as to overlap the railing you will find it comes out approx right , i found it kept coming unstuck when putting it on the gunturret but after several atempts was successful, pic's in my build.

With the addition of all this brass work, how heavy will the boat be?

I've been working on issues 60 & 61 and am wondering at the bizzare sequence here, why is it that the middle deck brass parts are put on prior to the brass parts for the upper deck?
This can only cause problems with bending the brass part round the upper deck, as it will be blocked by the rails from the deck below......would I be as well to hold off gluing on parts 289, 305, 331 and 372 until I have attached on the brass work for the deck above?

My middle deck wood part was not glued into place, as I expected I would need to work on it away from the main section, so it was very easy to fit the brass around it as per issue 62, well away from the brass rails below. It was also much easier to drill the holes for the portholes as well. I shall not finally glue this section down until after I have painted it. Likewise, with issue 61, I have not fitted parts348 and 335, as these will get in the way of fitting the brass pieces directly above.

A little off topic here Don, but does anyone have any suggestions for those nasty caps on the superglue containers. I picked up some thin CA at the Hobby shop last week, but have had success on issue 49 with Loctite Superglue. Only thing was I had to use 2 pair of pliers to get cap off it, and the same with another bottle of superglue medium I have. Is there a trick to these pesky lids as I'm sure one day it won't open So far so good with the brass bits and all the advise here has saved me pinging bits around the kitchen, besides the kids thought it was wierd me wearing the fishnet stockings.... :Doops, I'm mean putting them on the hoover is even weirder to an 8 year old!
