My starboard side part62 is warped up quite a bit, i'm reluctant to sand it down, as it would be wafer thin at the edge by the time I was finished! What can I try to bend it back in to shape, so thet it will maintain the shape and not bend back?

Could you cut the edge off and replace it with a fresh bit of ply ? Or just remove it completely and ask customer services for a new one as it was warped and unusable.

...and when the replacement comes send the "warped and unstable" part to join napoleon as it should feel right at home with him ;D ;D ;D

Ok guys this is my first call for help so don't let me down.. Part 67 seems to be too wide and I am unsure how the second layer of planking will finish at the stern. I have sanded the deck flush with the planking but stopped when I got to here. Should I sand this flush as well. The resin part fits ok (but I am waiting for the replacement in issue 35) and has a 1mm'ish gap all round. Gordon..

Hi Gordon,
My stern looks exactly the same as your's. Like you the reasin part fits well but I also wonder about the 2nd layer of planking. I'm no expert but perhaps the new resin part will fit better, if not then may have to sand down to get good fit.
Sorry I can't help more. Best of luck m8.

hmmm, my part 67 is flush along the hull, but when I test fit the resin part on mine it is out past part 67, and just now I have very little gap round the stern, but I will wait like yourself for the improved stern before sanding down. Don't do anything yet, I think. It's easier to sand down later that to fix over enthusiastic sanding now!!

Dry fitted part 67, etc to my model and all seems to be flush, except for slight tweaking of the resin part and the filler part under 67 which is a fraction too long. I shall not complete this area until issue 35 when we get the accurate resin part. Mine measures 42mm across part 41 (the stern frame) including the planking either side. The stern of the part 41 is 36mm from the sternof the removable deck.

Napoleon, Thinking about it and looking at some of the German sites, I think it needs to be stepped so that the second layer of planking will butt against the resin part. Otherwise we will need to bend a plank all the way round part 67 - if you see what I mean. A rather tatty diagram below will hopefully explain what I mean..

Gordon, Somehow, we have got slightly confused here. Part 67 is the resin part at bow. Part 70 is the resin part at stern. Which will give a totally different slant on the problem at the stern end and make your drawing more obvious. Regards Napoleon

well done Napoleon, have a brandy or two! If we all mentally substitute 67 for 66, then we will know what we are talking about......for a change!!!

Thats what hapens when you have a glass of plonk , or two, when attempting to remember part No's.
What I meant was stern resin and ply deck extension, part No's 63 and 70.

Has anyone else had a problem with part 66 being too big for part 63? Mine is too wide and long.

Ok, had a bit of a marathin build last night and got all my deck built and then disaster!! I have foudn when I have put the deck on my boot theres a gap betweent the front of the main deck piece (bow end) and the deck the goes over the bow.The gap is the deck pieces over the support. You can see the deck support protruding from under the deck planks. How can i fix this? I hope this makes sense.

Clear as mud How big is the gap. Can you fill it with a bit of plank edge on ? If I've miss-understood, can you post a photo ? (or EMail it to me - I'll post it for you if that's easier)
