The guns and rungs look great Baz.
Is that the base of a new workshop ?

Hi guys Still haven't got back to the portholes and finish the hull, but I did do a bit more over the weekend. One significant piece missing from the model is the fog typhoon. Looks like the original was modified and hung from above the walkway. Not really sure, so I constructed one by guesswork. I had to take out a rear top railing to get it to fit. Also thought I would try my hand at a couple of the small mounted guns. Baz

How did you make the horn ? (looks a bit like a golf tee, but I'm sure it isn't !)

How did you make the horn ? (looks a bit like a golf tee, but I'm sure it isn't !) Perseverance Mark !!!!!!! I couldn't find a standard match, so I guess the next best thing is a clothes peg. Just a bit of sprue, a bit of flame and some very careful pulling. These are a few of the failures. There are a few more scattered around the garage, only to be found when I clean the place out. Then some delicate hole making with 3 or 4 different size dental drill bits Baz

That's a very cunning plan - worth a K. I use stretched sprue occasionally, but I've never even thought that the tapered bit might be useful !

Too many other things to do. I just can't seem organise the energy to get the hull fininished so I can actually get some top coat on the little blighter. Maybe I secrectly don't want to start the deck planking. That will be a headache. Baz

Hi Baz, You wrote: Shure it is time consumer and sometimes boring.(I know) But if you have the idea to do it, you think you can do it, and you don't, you will miss it for the model life and may be for some extra months. Welcome to the "Deck Planckers Club" Mate; I think this Bissy is worth it. By seeing your superstructures, I gess your deck will look fine I'm waiting to see It, Courage

;D ..... Hi guys ... I know, it has been ages Well about 6 months ago the cats brought a bird they caught into the house....... The bird got away .... and flew up on top of the bookcase. I had the Bismarck on the piano in her her glory, everything i had completed on her ...... in front of the bookcase .......... as the cats scrambled to get the bird, my Bismarck got in the way. The result was extensive damage. Like about 150 hours of rebuild, I estimate. So ..... she sits idle at the moment, until i pluck up the courage to attempt a massive repair job, I'll pluck up some courage to take a coupla photos .... Anyway .... Merry Christmas to you all And have a great and prosperous New Year Hopefully soon, I will get back to her again My apologies for being away so long Bazza

Oh God, what a nightmare.
This has always been my pet fear with my Bissy, my son and his pals are forever running about the house, sword fighting and shooting nerf guns at each other....my first action then has always been to grab my Bissy and hide her away from harm before a bullet sends guns flying, or a sword sends the whole model flying....
I hope you can get her back into shape soon mate.
Good luck.
Have a K for morale!

Sorry to hear of your nightmare, very upsetting. Trouble with these very delicate models is always kids and animals, they do not go together!
I know when I moved to my new home some years ago, it was a nightmare packing them up, spent weeks making special carrying cases for them, and then brought them down myself, not trusting the removal men. My models are now in my "study" where when the family are down, I keep the door shut, but even then its a very nervous time. It is also a reason that my Bissy might become a static model, the thought of driving the model some 20 miles to a suitable water, and even then launching.............................
Best wishes for your rebuild, hope it goes well.

...yikes, darn cats, my boats are safely stored in the boat room(corner)/knitting room, no cats allowed, the odd wolf sticks his nose in now and then, but since he fell it the water at the boat pond, he kind of shies away from the boats. Good luck rebuilding Baz....and Merry Christmas.
