Hi, the whole thing is secured to the central column by the moon gear arm part 37 after it attached to the engraved gear part 36 the gear spindle is then free to rotate. Hope this helps :0

The latest build, We added Venus and a another date plate. The next stage will see the Earth gear fitted along with the earth and moon. Only the earth spins on its axis.

The next stage of the build is complete, This saw the Earth and Moon added, this has a unique function as the Earth is the only planet on the model to not onlt move round the Sun but also spin as it dose. The first part of the build saw the construction of the Earth gear, done in much the same way as the other "sandwich gears" only a little bigger. Earth Gear The next step was to build up the Earth Gear Arm Next... The Moon and then Some green and blue planet... And the Solar System so far, it is possible to carefully turn the central column to see the all turning looks very nice I'll see if I can video it and post it up in a day or two.

Nice one Nick Does the earth and moon rotate at the same speed, or does the earth spin faster than the moon (as it should). I couldn't quite see it in the video.
