What are your thoughts to the quality of the kit, ie, gear tolerance, intuitive design etc?

Couldn't beat it for inovative design, after all, it was the first, and only commercial supersonic airliner (we won't talk aout the failed Russian effort). Gear tolerance was superb, it even allowed for heat expansion !!

I have found all well most of the parts to be of a very high standard onr or two very little niggles that have been easyly got round is the attaching of one or two of the planets on thier arms.
Earth and Mars were a little loose and fell out all I done was wrap a small amount of PTFE tape round the pin in the bottom of the planets and fixed the problem.
PTFE tape saves the world!

You only need Duct tape and WD40 to fax any problem. If it moves and shouldn't, tape it up. If it doesn't move but should, spray it with WD40 !! Shall we give Nick his thread back now

Looks good Popeye. Will the planets still go round with the support on Juipter's rod, or is that just temporary ?
btw. THe boat launcher looks good as well !! Great idea

Dear Mark
They go round at present. Further planets also have a similar plastic strut due to the length of the support rod, but I am assuming that these will also clear.

The next stage has been completed, Sorry not many photos this time as the SD card is playing silly buggers and dicided to self delete whilst still in the camera! Jupiter. The parts... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh lots of bits. The black bar is a support of the planet arm. Jupiter with red dot. Jupiters moons. The solar system so far. Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Eris, Jupiter. Saturn is sitting not to far from me, just waiting on the next few issues before she is added. Nick
