Having finally collected enough issues (12-16) to get on with the next stage of the build I have finally attarched Mars. The new gearing in place. And Mars in its its glory...

The most anoying thing about the build is having to wait to collect a set number of issues before continuing the build...
and the fact that I will have nowhere to display it properly unless it sits in front of the Cutty Sark.

I am sooooo looking forward to getting my grubby little mits on this collection. Gonna have to wait until November when I get back to good old Blighty. On the bright side, I'll have nearly a full set to get stuck into. Looking forward to your new pics Nick. They ease my frustration a little

Finally got time to post a few pics of the latest stage of the Solar System build, its getting heavy now so has migrated from the bookcase to the "Cat Proof" (have to wait and see if it is) display cabnet. This stage of the build was the Dwarf Planet Eris installed. The first stage is to construct the gearing, This is the main gear the black bit slides on the the main colum, The Eris gear completed Eris arm Eris, the poor quality photo is because I have blown it up (the photo not the planet!) as its a tiddler. And the Solar System so far with The Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, mars and Eris in place. Already have Jupiter and four of it moons, waiting to be attached in the next couple of weeks. Got a couple of build boards the main on is a folding table, whilstr the one you can see in the last photo is actually a folding tray out of an airliner! beleve its 737! the recess for the cup is just right for keeping the ting screw and grub screws during the build.
